Google always insisted that their Search engine algorithm has been designed to display the most relevant result of the keyword searched by the user. Therefore most webmaster believe that they must optimizing their page to include all intended keyword within the page in order to show their page on the first position of Google Search result page. In other word we must do SEO on our page.

However, recent development on seocontest2008 showing inconsistency on Google searching algorithm. One of seocontest2008 participant site is accidentally unavailable during this contest and his site is redirected to a parked page and eventually to a sales domain page on GoDaddy.

When the indexed page on Google refreshed with the parked page, the index doesn’t contain any keyword related to the seocontest2008. Yet the page still maintained it’s appearance on first page and 5th position.

I was guessing that the page is still on the list because of it has strong backlink with seocontest2008 as the main anchor link. But when I check the backlink on Google, none is recorded. So what the heck SEO technique he is using on the page actually. Or simply because of luck?
