It’s been almost 2 week since I jumped into a SEOcontest with this blog. The time is getting closer to the decision line but I also see many interesting facts related with this competition.

I’m not SEO guru or master SEO therefore I wasn’t quiet understand with some SEO jargon such as Google Dance or Google Sandbox. Now by following the competition, I began to understand how to optimize a site for the search engine crawler and also how they treated a new page on their indexing system.

A friend of mine a SEO master has some problem on his blog performance several days ago. His blog that also following seocontest2008 was for some reason gained a big leap only within 3 days. Suddenly his blog appeared on the first page of SERP. That was great.

But then, without any warning his blog abruptly disappeared from the SERP. He said it was Google Sandbox effect and there’s nothing we can do to stop that from happening. After waiting for 3 days, then He gained his position back on the first page of SERP and even better than before.

I think this phenomenon wasn’t google sandbox effect, but more precisely it was Google dance. That means Google still calculating the exact position for a new blog. I just couldn’t imagine how google manage this enormous scale of calculation before deciding which page has the best relevancy to the keyword seocontest2008.

Do you wanna see the real Google Dance? follow this link
