Monitoring the SERP position is always giving me many things to learn. No one can expect the result of their SEO methods on a precise way, especially for nooby like me . There are many unknown factors that could affecting the SEO results.
I have an interesting example of how fragile an SERP for a site. My non-SEO-optimized blog on blogspot was used to had a nice SERP position for the keyword easy diets or easy diet and it was totally by chance. I wasn’t deliberately customizing keyword density on that page, and also it had only small number of backlink.
I made several posting related to the diet and weight loss topics then I abandoned that blog for several months. The visitor number who came to the blog wasn’t too much, but it’s number increasing steadily over the time.
Soon after I realized the potential of easy diets related topics and the SERP performance, I begin to add new contents with expectation that the SERP will improve higher.
Instead of getting higher position, I think I have broken the fine tuned keyword density on that blog and suddenly the easy diet blog SERP on Google slumped into nowhere. Only Yahoo! search still giving 3 – 5 visitor using the same keywords.
Perhaps I’d better to leave that blog alone once again. No more update or at least updating rarely.
